this is bear. german shepherd husky mix straight from fairbanks alaska. he's a former sled dog and now enjoys living in my apartment with me in san francisco. isn't he cute? :)

one other thing you should know about bear is that he has a little thing called 'umbrella-phobia'. he literally wont come within 5 yards of an umbrella, any color any size, open or closed, he just wont do it.
now, i get it. it changes shape suddenly and this could be frightening for some. i searched 'umbrella phobia' on google, and learned there is absolutely no phobia for umbrellas out there. can you believe it? it seems a little unfair, and probably makes those who are scared of umbrellas feel very misunderstood...
anyway, its been raining 10 days now, and bathroom trips to the park aren't successful unless they are umbrella-free. this makes our outings. very. wet. thank you bear.
